Flat 3 – 2 Bloom Street, M3 6AJ: location confusion and multiple issues - Advertised as Manchester but actually Salford;
Positive: Review for Flat 3, 2 Bloom Street, Salford - We appreciated the location, parking, and space.
Negative: Unfortunately our stay in Flat 3 was affected by a number of issues that fell short of the expected standard. Please note that while the property is advertised as being in Manchester, the address (2 Bloom Street, M3 6AJ) is in Salford. It is within walking distance of Manchester city centre, but guests should be aware of the distinction — especially as there is also a Bloom Street in Manchester city centre, which caused confusion with our taxi driver on one of our days out.
Key issues included:
• Flat not ready at check-in (still being cleaned after 4pm).
• Several appliances and cupboards not clean; general dust and debris throughout.
• Shower tray in en-suite draining poorly, with standing water; silverfish visible.
• Bathroom and en-suite fans not working, no external ventilation.
• No toiletries provided despite being advertised; dispensers empty, only 4 toothbrushes for 6 guests.
• Dining table only seated 4, unsuitable for 6 guests.
• Bedroom heater, en-suite mirror light, and living room clock not working.
• Beds advertised as doubles but were link beds. We would have preferred twin beds to avoid using an inflatable bed for one child (aged 6) while the other (aged 14) had a separate bed.
• Kitchen blind missing; handyman left debris mid-stay.
• Insufficient crockery/cutlery (extras delivered mid-week after reporting).
• TV not connected to aerial and defaulted to Spanish.
While some items were eventually delivered mid-stay, many issues remained unresolved and impacted our holiday.
I have shared this feedback with the property company, who acknowledged the problems and said they are reviewing cleaning, maintenance, and inventory procedures. However, until these changes are implemented, guests should be aware that Flat 3 is not currently meeting the advertised standard.
